August 04, 1999: Yeah, I know it's been a while since I've updated. But don't worry, I've got some Dixie Chicks news for y'all! The new music video for "Ready To Run" is currently playing on CMT and GAC, so watch it! It is an incrediably awesome video, I recommend it to anyone! And speaking of awesome videos, "Wide Open Spaces" is nominated for this year's CMA Video of the Year! The Chicks have 3 more CMA nominations: Single of the Year (Wide Open Spaces), Vocal Group of the Year, and the BIG one... ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR!!!! I think they have a chance to win all of them. Just a little side note: If the Chicks win Entertainer of the Year, they'll be the first female act to win in 13 years. The last female to win was Reba McEntire. In fact, it's been 4 years since a female has even been NOMINATED in that category. Shania Twain was also nominated this year, and that brings another cool fact. It has been more than a decade since the category has included two nominated female acts (McEntire and the Judds in 1988). Awesome huh? The Chicks keep breaking down these barriers in country music! Chicks really do rule!!!!!
